Scraper

Find winning products competitors keep paying to advertise

Scraper ranks products by the proof behind them, watches competitors on your schedule and hands a winner to Forge with the evidence attached.

Why it matters

Picking the wrong product wastes ad money, stock and creative work before anyone knows it failed, yet most owners still pick by scrolling competitor ads and trusting a hunch.

Scraper gives them a ranked list of products competitors keep paying to advertise, and sends a chosen winner straight into Forge to become a listing. Research, listings, ads, orders and profit live in one place, built inside a live store, so a product found here becomes a listing, an ad and a line in the profit report with no copying between tools.

Hours scrolling competitor ads, then a launch on a hunch

Finding the next product usually means scrolling competitor ads and marketplace listings by hand and guessing which ones really sell. An ad that ran once proves little. An ad a competitor keeps paying for says much more, and nobody has time to follow that for every shop they watch.

Even after a good find, getting it on sale is manual work: gather the details, check prices, brief the product page and the videos. The proof that made the product look good rarely goes along with it.

A ranked desk of products with proof behind them

The Opportunity Desk shows products competitors keep paying to advertise, ranked by proof and sorted into best sellers, scaling now, evergreen and seasonal. Type a product idea, choose the countries and set a budget, and ranked products come back. Save a keyword and new finds keep arriving on your schedule.

Add a competitor's page, website or marketplace shop and Portantis watches their ads and products for you, with an alert when a new page starts advertising for a shop you watch. Each product has its own page: every shop selling it, how its price and reach moved, its best ads and a clear verdict.

See how many people search for a product and whether interest is growing. Launch suggestions point to products where competitor ads, sales proof and search interest agree, with what to check first.

The Scraper section of the menu holds the Opportunity Desk and Video Analysis, plus the Shortlist board for products you star.

An analyst for any ad video

Paste an ad video into Video Analysis and the AI tells you its hook, angle, offer, script and risks, then says clone, adapt or skip. The AI also helps rank products on the desk and writes the verdict on each product page.

The AI ranks and explains. Starring a product, dropping it or launching it stays with your team.

How it works

  1. Spot it on the deskBrowse ranked products, research a product idea or let saved keywords bring new finds in.
  2. Check the evidenceOpen its page to see who sells it, how its price and reach moved, its best ads and the verdict, then check how many people search for it.
  3. Star it to the ShortlistMove it through decide, watching, made or dropped, with notes. Portantis then keeps an eye on its price and new sellers for you.
  4. Launch it into ForgeOne click creates your own product in Forge with the evidence attached, and spots products you already carry.

What changes for you

  • Launches backed by proof, not a hunch
  • New rivals flagged for you
  • Rival price changes flagged for you
  • From winner to listing in one click
  • Every product decision kept with notes

Scraper, feature by feature

The strongest products, first

Every product on the Opportunity Desk is ranked by how much proof stands behind it, so the best bets are at the top of the list.

  • The list stays current: products that stop showing proof move down on their own.
  • One product shows as one row, even when many shops sell it, with every shop and ad behind it.
  • Each product shows why it ranks where it does and what proof is still missing.
  • You decide what matters most to you and whether weaker products are shown at all.

The few products with the most proof are reviewed first, without scrolling hundreds of ads to guess which ones sell.

Track competitor ads and new advertisers

Add a competitor's page, website or marketplace shop. Portantis keeps an eye on their ads and products on the schedule you choose.

  • You choose how often each competitor is checked, how far back to look and which country to watch.
  • When a page you have never tracked starts advertising for a shop you watch, you get an alert.
  • Confirm an alert to start watching that page, or dismiss it. When you confirm several at once, you see the cost first.
  • Pause, restart or remove many competitors at once. Products they led you to stay on the desk.

New ads and new rivals reach you on your schedule, without opening each rival's ads by hand.

Who sells a product and at what price

Each product has its own page with every shop selling it, how its price and reach moved, its best ads and a clear verdict: worth making, needs more proof or keep watching.

  • See every shop selling it, cheapest first, with old prices and whether they are still advertising.
  • See the ads worth learning from, the shop page they lead to, that shop's bundles and your own price beside it.
  • Every piece of evidence shows how recent it is, so you know when it needs a fresh look.
  • Send any saved ad to Video Analysis in one click.

One page answers whether to make a product: who already sells it, at what price, with which ads, and how sure the evidence is.

Product research by keyword in several countries

Type a product idea in a few plain words, pick the countries, and ranked products come back to the desk.

  • One entry searches every country you pick, each in its own language, so you never translate a keyword by hand.
  • Before a search starts you see what it looks for and what it may cost. You set a daily limit and a limit per search, and research never goes over them.
  • Save a keyword and it runs again on the days and at the hour you pick, adding new finds to the desk.
  • Stop a search at any time. Your last results stay on screen.

Research a product idea in several countries in one step, with spending capped before anything runs.

Competitor price tracking and new seller alerts

For products on your Shortlist, Portantis keeps watching rival prices and new shops, and tells you where your own price stands.

  • When a rival changes price you see the old price, the new one and yours, with room to raise yours or a warning that they now sell for less.
  • When a new shop starts selling the product, you hear about it and it joins the price comparison.
  • A short summary shows the week's price changes, the biggest drop and new rivals on your Shortlist.
  • The Shortlist suggests a price that fits the market. Removing a product stops its alerts.

A rival's price cut reaches you before it shows up as slower orders.

Analyze a competitor video ad

Paste a link to any ad video, or send one from the desk, and see why it works, what it offers, what could go wrong and whether to copy it.

  • See how the ad grabs attention, what it offers and what the offer leaves out, with a score for how strong it is.
  • Spot risky claims and trust gaps before you copy anything, and read the full script with an English summary.
  • Get a clear verdict (clone, adapt, try a new angle or skip) and how much work a remake takes. An ad you already analyzed opens again at no extra cost.
  • Pick the scenes you like and Forge remakes them with your product, then play both versions side by side.

Understand why a competitor ad works before paying to make your own, without rewatching and writing it down by hand.

Turn a winning product into your listing

Star a product, note your decision, and one click opens Forge with the product and the competitor's page already filled in.

  • Only products you approve go to Forge, so nothing is made by accident.
  • Portantis spots products you already carry, and a person confirms every match.
  • Once made, the Shortlist card shows its price, photos, videos and whether it is live or still a draft.
  • Every decision keeps the evidence of that day, who made it and a note. Dropped products can come back at any time.

The evidence that picked a product travels with it into the listing, so nobody briefs the product again from scratch.

Search demand check and launch suggestions

See how many people search for a product and whether interest is growing, and get a few launch picks where competitor ads, sales proof and search interest agree.

  • See searches month by month, the busiest months, how crowded the ads are and which searches are growing fastest.
  • Check any keyword on its own, quickly and at low cost.
  • Launch picks skip products you already sell and say how sure Portantis is about each one.
  • Each pick says what to check first, such as your margin or a crowded market.

Test products people already search for, and see crowded ad markets before you spend money entering them.

Find scaling, evergreen and seasonal products

One click on the desk shows products by where they are in their life: best sellers now, scaling fast, selling steadily for months, or in season.

  • Best sellers shows what reaches the most people right now.
  • Scaling now shows young products picking up fast. Evergreen shows products that keep selling month after month.
  • Seasonal shows what fits the time of year, like heaters in winter and fans in summer.
  • Look back at any past period, such as last year before Christmas, to see what competitors pushed hardest.

Spot products whose ads are scaling right now, and plan seasonal launches from what competitors pushed in the same season.

Short video and marketplace research Beta

Beyond social media ads, research can look at short videos, big marketplaces and competitors' own stores for signs a product sells. This is in beta.

  • See products spreading on short videos, often before the ads start.
  • See reviews, ratings, sales and prices on big marketplaces, and what is new in the competitor stores you watch.
  • You turn each of these on when you are ready, and only managers and moderators can switch them on or off.
  • Views and likes are shown as interest, never passed off as sales.

A product that sells on marketplaces and spreads on video, as well as in ads, ranks with more confidence.

What you can do with Scraper

  • Price a new product against the market

Before you list, open the product's page and see every rival shop, cheapest first, with old prices and bundles. The Shortlist suggests a price and tells you when a rival undercuts it.

  • Plan seasonal stock from last season's ads

In late summer, look back at which heaters and Christmas products competitors pushed hardest last winter, and when people searched for them most. Seasonal stock planning, in beta, can then mark such products to test or to watch.

  • Build your offer from competitor bundles

The product page shows the bundles, variants, old price and discount a rival's shop uses, and the video analyzer names the offer in their ad. Use both to set your own bundle and price before Forge writes the listing.

  • Spot new pages selling a rival's products

Watch a competitor's website. When a page nobody on your team tracks starts advertising for it, you get an alert, and one click adds it to the competitors you watch.

  • Remake a proven ad with your product

Send a competitor video that has run for months to the analyzer, read why it works and what it risks, then pick the scenes you like. Forge remakes them with your product, and you compare both videos side by side.

  • Watch a niche without scrolling competitor ads

Save a keyword such as solar lamps for the countries you sell in and pick the day it runs. Each run adds new products to the desk, ranked by proof, within the research limit you set.

Questions about Scraper

What is Scraper in PortantisAI?

Scraper is the PortantisAI module that finds products competitors keep paying to advertise and ranks them by the proof behind them. It watches the competitors you choose, shows whether people are searching for a product, and turns a winner into your own product listing in one click with Forge.

Where does Scraper find its products?

From ads competitors keep paying to run, from the pages, websites and marketplace shops you ask it to watch, and from the product ideas and keywords you enter. Research on short videos and on marketplace reviews and sales is still in beta.

How is this different from scrolling competitor ads myself?

Scrolling shows you what is running today. Scraper ranks products by proof, watches competitors for you, keeps each product's price and reach history, flags new advertisers for the shops you watch and hands a chosen product to Forge with its research.

Can I control what research costs and where it looks?

Yes. Research stays within the budget you set, and saved keywords run on the schedule you choose. You also decide what makes a good product for you, what shows up on the desk and where research looks.

What happens when I launch a product from the Shortlist?

Scraper creates the product in Forge with the research attached and spots products you already have, so nothing is made twice. Forge then writes the page and makes the images and videos, and nothing is published until your team clicks publish.

Should I trust the AI verdicts?

Treat them as a starting point, with the evidence right beside them: competitor ads, sellers, price and reach history, and search interest. The video analyzer names the hook, angle, offer, script and risks it found. The decision to launch always stays with your team.

What can Scraper not do yet?

Some research is still in beta: short videos, marketplace and competitor store proof, and a collector for competitor photos and videos. A knowledge collector that keeps lessons from the courses and channels you follow in one place is planned.

Will I see the same product many times?

No. When several shops sell the same product under different names, it shows once, with every shop, price and ad listed under it, so you judge the product and not each ad.

Is the competitor ad spend figure real?

No. It is an estimate and is always labelled as one. You can adjust it in Research settings, and it is never shown as an invoice or as sales.

Which countries can I research?

Countries across Europe, including Italy, Germany, France, Spain, Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal, Greece, Czechia and Slovakia. The owner decides which of them your team sees. Your keyword is searched in each country's own language, and each competitor is watched in the country you choose, since some ads show only there.

How fresh is the evidence behind a product?

Every piece of evidence shows when it was last seen, and old readings are marked so you know when to refresh them. Launch suggestions use only recent evidence.

Can I see ads a competitor has already stopped?

Yes. You can look at running ads, stopped ads or both, and every product page shows how long each ad ran. Ads that are no longer public cannot be brought back.
